I did a catering order of bagels, lox, cream cheese, etc for a brunch I was having at home. Mark and everyone at Poppy’s is on their game!! I can’t say enough about them! They don’t miss a detail. Mark texted with me after hours. The food was perfect-everyone loved. I highly recommend using Poppy’s Providence Rd for your next gathering. Mark takes the stress out of your hands!
If this is the best Charlotte has to offer re bagels / Jewish deli, then I'm sorely disappointed.
Got a late breakfast here at 1115 or so - bagels are ok, but nothing like I've had in NJ. Bagel was not toasted, cheese and sausage ok, egg not so much. Bagels are certainly better than grocery store bagels, but leave a lot missing. Strongly recommend you purchase a poppy's dozen and then make a sandwich at home. It's worth a visit, but the cost of the breakfast sandwich and how it's put together warrant making this yourself with their bagels.
Absolutely terrible. We ordered 2 bagels, 40 minutes later we asked for the 3rd time if they were almost ready and they said oh we just got your order. With 10 people working behind the counter just staring into space, we just asked for a refund. Not worth the mediocre bagel and terrible service. No apology, no clarity, just a terrible poorly ran bagel shop.
Waited 45 minutes for 2 bagels. They forgot the order and had no care in the world. They said it’s fine and didn’t even offer an apology. Then offered a partial refund. Staff for the most part was just standing around and enjoying their own beverages.
First time at Poppy's and wow! This place is great. The food delicious! I never had such a delicious bagel in life. Made fresh and perfect. The staff was doing great making sure people were practicing social distancing by having only a few enter at a time. All the staff were wearing mask and doing their best to follow safety precautions. This place is crazy busy but well worth the wait! Michelle was sweet and greeted me. Everyone in the front provided great customer service! Since it was my first time the whole staff was kind and welcomed me hello. Sue made my bagel sandwich and boy was it amazing! Don't miss out on those holiday cookies either. My daughter loved them. I will be back and make sure to let everyone know about this gem!
This place used to be so amazing but it’s rapidly gone downhill. This is a picture of lunch time: out of bagels, out of chips, almost out of staff. Every single time I come here the prices have increased while the quality has gone downhill. When they get my order right (which is rare) it’s usually on a burnt bagel or a bagel that has no toppings. I reached out to them (as a loyal customer since they first opened) & no one even bothered to respond. Take your business to the Good Wurst instead & get 10x better food for half the price.
The best place for bagels around Charlotte. Every time I’m in town I make a visit! Great breakfast sandwiches, a wide variety of lunch sandwiches, and a full-blown deli or salads and baked goods! Call in your order to avoid the lines (cause everyone knows how great this place is!)
Great bagels. Great nova. Great whitefish. Brainless checkout girl. Ask a basic question, they just stare at you and give you answers that make no sense. For example, I asked for a Diet Coke, so she said “You can get a fountain soda with ice”, then you purchase the fountain soda, walk over to the fountain soda machine and a sign on the machine reads “No ice”. Just an example. Overall the food was great and probably why this place does well.
